The first use loads about 55 MB of model and WebAssembly files. Speed depends on the connection, iPhone, browser, image size, memory, and scene complexity.

Open the tool in Safari or another modern browser and choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image from your phone. The browser loads the background-removal model, analyzes the image, and creates a subject mask on your device. You can compare the original photo with the transparent preview before saving anything.
An automatic cutout may need help around hair, fingers, straps, shadows, or objects that share a color with the background. Tap Keep and then tap a missing part of the subject, or choose Remove and tap an unwanted area. Add one point at a time so you can see how each correction changes the mask.
The result downloads as a PNG because PNG supports transparent and partially transparent pixels. The working preview is resized for processing, but the final mask is applied at the original image width and height.

The queue holds up to five images but processes one at a time. Start with one or two large files, keep the page open, and download finished work before reloading.
Fine hair, transparent materials, motion blur, overlapping objects, and low-contrast edges can require correction. This tool removes a background; it does not erase an object from within a photo.
